Everything We Know About the 2024 NFL Season
The 2024 NFL season has officially started, and things are really ramping up for pro football fans as they get ready for an exciting few months ahead. Find out everything we know about the current season, including top games in the 2024 NFL schedule, best players and teams, pro football contests taking place, and more. We’re excited to be back for one of the country’s favorite sports, and have a lot in store for the upcoming season!
Top Games
Every football Sunday is jam-packed with big-time games. But some games are better than others. Whether it’s two top teams going at it or a huge divisional rivalry, some games are truly appointment television.
This year is no different. We’ll start with the last Monday night game of the season, between the Detroit Lions and San Francisco 49ers, on Monday, December 30. This is a rematch of the NFC Championship Game, which saw the Niners come back from a 17-point deficit. These two teams are at the top of the conference, and this may be a preview of another massive playoff game.
You’ll definitely want to check out the Week 11 matchup between the Houston Texans and Dallas Cowboys. Believe it or not, these teams have only squared off six times in history. Both are expected to be playoff contenders, making for a unique in-state rivalry.
And then we have a Big Game rematch in Week 7, with the Kansas City Chiefs flying to the Bay Area to take on the Niners. These two should be at the top of the league again, and it will be interesting to see if there is still any bad blood between the clubs.
The Big Game
At the end of the season comes the much-anticipated Big Game. Though it’s anyone’s game to play at this point, we are still looking forward to and making plans for the annual championship game of the Big Game LIX, which is scheduled to be played on Sunday, February 9 at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Top Pro Football Teams
Once again, the Kansas City Chiefs will be a top team, looking for their third Big Game in a row. With Patrick Mahomes, Chris Jones, and Travis Kelce on the roster, they will always be a contender.
Another team to watch out for is the Buffalo Bills. They combine a top offense, led by quarterback Josh Allen, along with an impressive defense. The Bills have been knocking at the door for a few years now. Will 2024 be their time?
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers might be a sleeper. They’ve gotten off to a hot start, and quarterback Baker Mayfield has completely turned his career around. Houston is the young hotshot team, with QB C.J. Stroud and an offense with weapons at every position.
With good health, the San Francisco 49ers will be in contention. But they’ve already had some issues in the injury department to start the year.
The Philadelphia Eagles were the top team in the league midway through last season. Then everything fell apart. Will a reset and new talent, including star running back Saquon Barkley, fix what ailed them?
The Detroit Lions were everyone’s darling last year. While they won’t sneak up on anyone this season, they return much of the same roster and could be poised for another deep run.
Top Pro Football Players
At quarterback, he’s still the man, and it’s Patrick Mahomes. The three-time Big Game champion is looking to add another ring to his collection. Never count him out.
The reigning MVP, Lamar Jackson of Baltimore continues to put up big numbers and will have another huge year. The Ravens have more weapons on offense, which should help him out.
Josh Jacobs signed a big free agent deal with the Green Bay Packers to be their running back and will be a focal point of their offense. When healthy, Alvin Kamara of the New Orleans Saints can put up huge numbers; don’t sleep on one of the fastest players in football, De’Von Achane of the Miami Dolphins, either.
At receiver, Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings is the belle of the ball, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he approaches record-breaking status.
On defense, Sauce Gardner of the Jets is a true shutdown corner, while Roquan Smith of the Ravens is a throwback linebacker. The best pass rusher in the game is Aidan Hutchinson of Detroit, with Maxx Crosby of Las Vegas a close second.
